Getting started
Getting Started
Create your Future Boards account, set up your organisation, choose a plan and invite your board.
Future Boards brings your board's meetings, papers, minutes, decisions and signed documents into one place. This page walks you through creating an account, setting up your organisation and finding your way around.
If someone has already invited you to their organisation, start with *Accept an invitation* below. You don't need to set up an organisation or choose a plan to join one.
Create your account
- Go to the Future Boards sign-up page.
- Enter your Name, Email and a Password, then confirm the password. The password needs at least 8 characters, with an upper-case letter, a lower-case letter and a number. The form shows each rule as you type.
- Tick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Select Create account.
You can also select Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft instead of using a password.
We email you a link to confirm your email address. Until you click it, you can't accept invitations or sign documents sent to that address. If the email doesn't arrive, select Resend email on the banner at the top of the app.
Set up your organisation
After you create your account, a short setup guide takes you through four steps: Basics, Plan, Team and Branding.
- Basics. Enter your Organisation name, add a logo if you have one, and check the Time zone. Select Next.
- Plan. Choose a plan, a billing cycle (Monthly or Annual) and a Currency. Every plan starts with a free trial. You add a card at checkout and aren't charged until the trial ends. If you picked a plan on our pricing page, it is already selected.
- Team. Add the email addresses of the people you want to invite, and choose whether each one joins as a member or an admin. Select Send Invites, or Skip for now.
- Branding. Pick a Brand colour and a Theme, then select Finish Setup.
Once your organisation has a plan, you can select Skip setup to finish the remaining steps later in settings. Only an owner can choose the plan. If you aren't an owner, you'll see who to ask.
Your first space is created for you, so you can start adding meetings straight away. Read Your organisation & spaces to learn how spaces work.
Accept an invitation
- Open the link in your invitation email.
- Sign in, or create an account if you don't have one yet.
- Select Accept invitation. You go straight into the organisation.
If the invitation went to a different address from the one you signed in with, select Add this email to add and confirm that address, then come back to accept. If you don't want to join, select Decline.
Find your way around
The sidebar on the left is your main navigation:
- Dashboard shows your next meeting, your action items, documents awaiting your signature and decisions to vote on.
- Action Items lists the tasks assigned to you. See Action items.
- My signatures lists documents you've been asked to sign. See E-signatures.
- Space shows the space you're working in, with its Overview, Meetings, Decisions, Documents, Signed Documents and Manage Space pages. Select the space name to switch to another one.
- Settings opens your organisation's settings. See Admin & settings.
Notifications live in the top bar. Your account menu, in the sidebar, links to Profile settings, Help and support and Sign out.
If you belong to more than one organisation, use the organisation switcher at the top of the sidebar to move between them, or select Create Organisation to start a new one.
